DDR is an acronym for Dynamic Data Rate. And the latest technology happening in the DDR family is about the introduction of its latest version DDR3. This latest product is an iteration of SDRAM. DDR3 RAM has the capacity to increase the speed of the Internal Bus to eight times the current memory clock. And it operates effectively at 8 times the frequency. DDR3 is also referred as PC3 6400 and operates at a frequency of 100MHZ. This DDR3 RAM is supported only by a few Mother Boards and CPU’s. Another enhanced feature is that it has 240 pins which are differently keyed and cannot be fixed into a DDR2 slot.
